Planning what to see and where to go in Cork, I always had a visit to The English Market in mind. Last Monday, in the soft Munster rain, we set off through the streets of Cork, with lots of information from John (@walkcork), and found it.
While it was a little smaller than I had imagined, the sights, sounds, and smells, were just amazing. How lucky are local people to have this market in their City. With meats, vegetables, eggs, cheeses, breads, and fish in abundance, you would never need to visit a supermarket for food shopping.
There were lots of tourists around that day, including us, and while I thought it was busy, was told after that it was nothing compared to a Saturday! Here are just some of the sights and flavours of what we came across on our visit.
